The FA Cup is here! Action from around the grounds

- By Mark Worthington

A LATE flury of goals saw off a spirited Sheffield side

Hyde were in control early on and able to play within themselves, with a threat down the flanks provided by Luke Porritt and Tom Pratt.

They opened the scoring on 15 minutes when Chib Chilaka hammered the ball home from six yards following some outstanding work by Pratt.

Chib was forced off with what looked like a groin strain on 35 minutes and was replaced by Karl Jones

The second half started with Hyde sitting back as Sheffield enjoyed periods of control and pressure without really forcing a save out of Peter Crook in The Tigers’ goal.

They would regret failing to score, as the Tigers fitness started to tell with fresh legs on the field.

On 75 minutes, Kyle Harrison roared forward before feeding Jones on the edge of the box. He danced inside, evading three tackles before rounding the keeper to double the Tigers’ lead.

Three minutes later, a quick pass from Janni Lipka released Pratt who ran clear before squaring for Pete Boyle to fire home.

Harrison then completed his hat-trick with goals on 87 and 90 minutes both supplied by Pratt.

Sheffield had the last word scoring a consolation goal as the referee blew for full time.

STAR MAN: Tom Pratt (Hyde) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
