UNBEATEN YATE LEAVE IT LATE

Town needed a late Dave Sims-Burgess equaliser to preserve their unbeaten record as they drew 1-1 with Cinderford Town.

Cinderford were more than a match for their top of the league hosts and scored their goal one minute into the second half.

Lewis Bamford’s twisting run into the box was cut short illegally by Charlie Hitchings – leaving Dan McDonald to fire home from the resulting penalty kick.

Cinderford looked to be holding on for all three points and a place in the top five but they were denied 17 minutes from the end.

Sims-Burgess completed a strong run in from the right-hand side by slipping the ball under Alex Harris to level the scores.

Dan Framp and Abdul Rajab helped Fleet Town secure their first point of the season against Bristol

Manor Farm as they drew 2-2.

Manor Farm took the lead when Jordan Metters whipped a corner which was too hot to handle for goalkeeper Brendan Norris, allowing Troy Simpson to poke home.

The match burst into life in the second half on 77 minutes when Framp smashed a fierce effort past Ben John for the equaliser.

Town thought they then had their first victory of the season when Rajab fired home in injury time but two minutes later Manor Farm had saved themselves when Dean Stamp knocked in the leveller to share the points. But the wait for Barnstaple Town’s first points goes on as they were comprehensively beaten by newcomers Highworth Town.

A free-flowing move involving Will Pinnock and Elliott Whitecross ended with Steve Holland, on his return to Barnstaple colours, hitting home from the edge of the box to give the home side the lead.

Highworth equalised when the dangerous Callum Parsons ran through on goal and was brought down by keeper Rob Holmes. Parsons himself converted the spot kick.

Holmes was beaten again when a cross from the left was headed home

by unmarked Callum Ferguson inside the box after 50 minutes.

Wayne Turk made the game safe midway through the second half when he scored from close range following a corner.

The result proved to be a double celebration for Highworth chairman Rowan Haynes on the day of his 60th birthday.

Benjamin Whitehead salvaged a point for

Cirencester Town as they drew 2-2 at home to Moneyfields.

Moneyfields took the lead after just five minutes when Felipe Barcelos showed great skill to curl home.

The visitors lead lasted 20 minutes as Alan Griffin headed home from a corner to make sure it was level at the break.

Moneys came back into the tie and were ahead on 61 minutes when a crisp move was rounded off by Lloyd Rowlatt.

The away team had a second victory of the season in their sights, but their optimism faded four minutes after taking the lead when Whitehead scrambled home within the six-yard box.

The result leaves Cirencester on seven points from their opening four games, enough to see them fifth in the table. Elsewhere, Evesham

United moved up to third place in the table as they inflicted Blackfield & Langley’s first defeat of the campaign.

United dominated the first half and were duly in front on 37 minutes when a wonder strike from Cory Simpson had the hosts in front at the break.

With 15 minutes to go the points were safe as Nicholas Humphreys powered home his header from a corner.

The Watersiders pushed until the last and had a consolation in the 99th minute when Fatah Makhloufi bundled home but it could stop the side slipping to ninth place.
