SMYTHE WINS IT LATE FOR COLLS
CONNOR Smythe’s 72ndminute goal was enough to give Pontefract Collieries a narrow victory at Brighouse Town.
It looked as though the game would finish as a 0-0 epic, but that all changed when a ball came into the box from the right, where Smythe was well placed to beat Jordan Porter.
The game was a fullblooded affair with chances at either end and four bookings in the second half as both teams scrapped for victory.
Town had a setback when Jordan Eli went off in the 13th minute with a suspected broken foot, while former Town players Eli Hey and Thomas Dugdale gave spirited performances for the victors in a strong encounter.
