ROBINS STAY ON A LOFTY PERCH

- By Sean McGlead

EVESHAM United went to the top of the Division One South table in midweek after a 1-0 win at Slimbridge and the Robins were in no mood to let go of top spot at AFC Totton.

It was the hosts who took a 40th-minute lead when Jack Barker stooped to head home a Charlie Gunson corner.

However, the visitors were level within two minutes when Joe Tumelty headed home a left-wing cross.

Evesham were then awarded a 77th-minute penalty after Stags keeper Shane Murphy was adjudged to have fouled Steve Davies.

Davies stepped up himself to bury the spot-kick and Evesham rounded things off when Sean Brain fired home a third.
