TRING ATHLETIC are the new leaders of the Premier Division, as their 5-1 home win over Harpenden Town saw them leapfrog Biggleswad­e FC to move two points clear at the top.

Kieran Turner’s excellent 29th-minute solo effort put the hosts ahead and they doubled their lead three minutes later when Dave O’Connor finished from close range following a corner.

Adam Mead pulled one back for Harpenden but late goals from Carl Mensah, Turner and Ben Johnson wrapped up the points

Cockfoster­s remain in the bottom three after they drew 1-1 at home with London Tigers.

Alex Michaelide­s’ 32nd-minute header put the hosts ahead and despite Cockfoster­s losing goalkeeper Adam Seymour to injury, Tigers could only muster a 76th-minute equaliser.

In the midweek Challenge Trophy games, Second Division MK Gallactico­s provided the shock of the round as they dumped Premier Division Stotfold out of the competitio­n with a 5-2 victory.

Demario Smith and Josh DouglasSmi­th both scored twice.

In the other ties, Tyler Ingram and Graham Clarke were among the scorers as Crawley Green beat neighbours The 61FC (Luton) 5-0, Biggleswad­e FC beat Edgware Town 5-0 and Jack Read was on target as Tring Athletic beat London Colney 3-1.
