HAUGHMOND were in seventh heaven after they battered bottom club Bilston Town Community 7-0.

The Shrewsbury-based side quickly took charge, Scott Ryan opening their account before Adam Davies marked his return from Welshpool Town to make it 20 at half-time.

The deadly Davies went on to complete his hat-trick in the second half, before 16-year-old substitute Ryan Knott savoured a special moment when scoring Haughmond’s fifth with his first touch of the ball to crown a dream debut.

Shifnal Town shared a 1-1 draw with Shropshire rivals AFC Bridgnorth.

Jason Pike blasted Bridgnorth in front with a 30-yard rocket, but Ben Osei was quick to level for Shifnal.

Pike had the chance to seal the points for Bridgnorth, but fired a 63rd-minute penalty against the underside of Shifnal’s crossbar before the ball was scrambled clear.

Malvern Town maintained their fine start with a 2-0 success over Shawbury United.
