RUNCORN LINNETS 2 COLNE 0
By Ste Bignall
RUNCORN Linnets pulled off an eye-catching and deserved victory against early league pace setters Colne.
A tight first half produced little in the way of goalscoring opportunities for either side, but Runcorn bossed the second half and could have won by a bigger margin.
Freddie Potter opened the scoring on the hour when he swept home Niall Watson’s inch perfect low cross, and the
game was put to bed with 15 minutes remaining when Aaron Morris headed in a wicked Louis Corrigan corner.
The victory sees Runcorn leapfrog Colne to second place in the league table.
