HARRIERS MAKE IT FOUR ON THE SPIN
YORK CITY 0 KIDDERMINSTER H 3
UNBEATEN Kidderminster Harriers racked up a fourth consecutive victory.
An Ed Williams brace before half-time followed by Joe Ironside’s 55thminute effort secured maximum points for the visitors.
After Kallum Griffiths had brushed the side netting from the edge of the box, Kiddy forged ahead in spectacular fashion with their first opportunity.
Collecting a headed Jake Wright clearance from Declan Weeks’ corner, Williams unleashed a 20-yard thunderbolt that rocketed into home keeper Adam Bartlett’s net.
Kiddy then doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time, with Williams’ weak shot being deflected past Bartlett.
The interval saw York make a double change, with 36-year-old veteran forward Jon Parkin thrown on and he forced Kiddy keeper Brandon Hall into his first save of the afternoon.
Griffiths also hit an upright from distance but it was Neil MacFarlane’s men that grabbed the all-important next goal when Weeks fed a charging Ironside and he brushed past Tait before finding Bartlett’s bottom-left corner.
The home side were also denied an 87thminute consolation when Hall saved brilliantly from Simon Heslop.
