TOMMY BREWS UP A STORM
KINGSTONIAN 3 BISHOP’S STORTFORD 2
TOMMY BREWER’S late goal took Kingstonian out of the drop zone after an unexpectedly thrilling encounter.
Ks led a paperweight Bishop’s Stortford 2-0 at the break. But the Blues retrieved the situation before Brewer’s heroics.
Blues keeper Calum Kitscha saved Elliott Buchanan’s 35-yard thunderbolt. But on 16 minutes, Shaun Lucien’s expert control and dinked right-foot finish put Ks ahead.
And Greg Cundle made it 2-0 in stoppagetime after his one-two with James Daly split the Blues’ defence. An unmarked Jamie Cureton gave Stortford a lifeline with his header from Chris Gregan’s 54th-minute cross.
And Kitscha denied Lamont twice before Stortford levelled on 79 minutes, Jake Cass barging over his marker and Cureton sweeping home the loose ball.
Ks sub Reece WilliamsBowers brought more acrobatics from Kitscha. But both sides could have snatched a winner before Brewer latched on to some collective defensive hesitation and fired emphatically home to seal the points.
