DICKSON CAN’T STOP SCORING
TRURO CITY 0 HAMPTON & R B 2
HAMPTON weathered an early City storm to make it five successive wins.
Buoyed by a midweek victory, City started the game at Torquay United’s Plainmoor ground strongly against a rather lacklustre Hampton.
Louis Rooney, Tyler Harvey, Ben Gerringand Connor Riley-Lowe all had opportunities, but were unable to score.
And the visitors then struck twice in a deadly four minute spell.
First, top scorer Chris Dickson tucked away his eighth goal of the season as he finished off Zak Joseph’s cross.
Boosted by the goal Hampton quickly made it 2-0 with a quality finish from the experienced Craig Dundas who burst into box and found the far corner.
It put Hampton in control and despite plenty of second half effort by City they rarely troubled Tom Lovelock in the visitors’ goal.
Indeed Hampton should have added to their tally with Dickson shooting over as they eased to an impressive win against a Truro side which showed signs they can get away from the wrong end of the table.
