BAILEY IS HERO IN NINE-GOAL BONANZA

- BOSTIK SOUTH CENTRAL By Ray Greenall

AN EXTRAORDINARY game saw Hertford Town beat Bedfont

Sports in a 5-4 thriller as Elliot Bailey scored the winner in added time.

Hertford started well, their account opened up in the first minute with a Davie Keenleyside goal, then doubling their advantage through Romaric Logan in the 14th minute.

The Blues looked to be running away with the game, but they were soon pegged back by the first of two goals from the visitors’ Abdeen Temitote Abdul.

The home side were soon back in charge, though, with a Tyler Hatlery goal ten minutes before half-time restoring the two-goal lead at 3-1.

The second half saw Bedfont turn the game on its head with three goals, Abdul, Charlie Postance and a Jack Mills penalty, to give themselves a 4-3 lead as the dramatic contest showed no signs of slowing down.

The home side then hit back with goals from David Keenleyside and Elliott Bailey to secure an amazing 5-4 victory, with everyone drawing breath come the final whistle. Elsewhere, South

Park were unlucky not to take at least a point against in a 2-1 defeat against second-placed Waltham Abbey.

In a goalless first half, Luciano Osbourne shot over for Park whilst Ronnie Winn had a shot blocked by Giani Ashley for Abbey.

Park broke the deadlock in the 50th minute when Jay Bradley’s shot from 25 yards went in off the post.

The game then turned dramatically in a twominute spell. In the 57th minute Abbey were awarded a penalty from which Winn levelled, despite an apparent handball in the build-up.

And just two minutes later Jay Bradley was sent off for his second caution as Park were reduced to ten men.

Abbey grabbed what turned out to be the winner in the 64th minute when Stimson scored from close range before Osbourne shot over the bar in stoppage time.

Cheshunt got a big three points on the road with a 4-1 victory over

Westfield in a game which saw all five goals scored in the second half, including an Oluwule Akinsanya hat-trick.

Jason Hallett got the visitors up and running four minutes after the break, while the lead was doubled moments later, Akinsanya the man to fire home this time.

His afternoon was to get better but not before Arron Watson immediately responded for the home side as Westfield halved the deficit to 2-1.

Akinsanya got his second on the hour mark while his hat-trick followed less than five minutes later as Cheshunt moved 4-1 to the good.

The drama wasn’t done there though, substitute Emiel Aiken seeing red just 16 minutes after coming on for Cheshunt though their lead was never in doubt.

Finally, Joe Grant’s hat-trick saw Bracknell Town prevail 5-0 as

Ashford Town endured a miserable afternoon on their home turf.

Grant opened the scoring just 11 minutes in, finding the net from close range after Matty Day had cleared off the line at the other end.

Gavin James made it 2-0 on 50 minutes but from there the floodgates opened, four Bracknell Town goals coming within 20 minutes.

James smashed in a volley first time and a loose ball bounced while Grant tapped in his second, wrapping up his hat-trick with a thunderbolt.

Liam Ferdinand wrapped up the scoring with a volley 20 minutes from time.
