BEADLE: MY BULLS SACKING ‘A LITTLE HARSH’
AXED management pair Peter Beadle and Steve Jenkins have described their shock departures from Hereford as “a little rash or harsh’ in a joint statement released this week.
The duo had been at the club since they formed in 2014, leading the phoenix club to three league titles in a row and a run to the FA Vase final in 2016.
But, after only an average start to their National League North campaign this season, the board decided to act, much to the shock of everyone at Edgar Street.
Former Gloucester City chief Tim Harris has been installed as director of football, while a list of highprofile manager replacements has been drawn up with names such as Dean Holdsworth and Lee Clark rumoured to be on it.
Beadle and Jenkins, however, said of their departures: “Like many people we were shocked and disappointed with the news that Hereford FC was terminating our employment with immediate effect.”
“On reflection over the weekend we still feel that it was a little rash or harsh. We both knew that the block of games we’d just come out of was always going to be tough and after them we felt we knew what was needed. Sadly we never had that opportunity and instead we sat having coffee reflecting on what has been an incredible journey.
“We have so many people to thank for playing a part and sharing in our journey.
“Walking out at the front of the team at Wembley to see 20,000 Hereford FC fans was and will be one of my proudest days.
“So, gentlemen, players, volunteers and supporters thank you for the memories.”
