WEMBLEY INVITE IS WITH OUR THANKS
THE FOOTBALL Association are welcoming guests from Romania to England’s Wembley game against Croatia as a thank you for their help when North Riding League’s Stuart Rose suffered a potentially life-threatening facial injury at the UEFA Regions Cup.
Rose was representing England in Romania in September when a freak accident in the game led to a number of facial fractures and concussion.
Quick action from the FA’s medical team Dr Mike Allen and physio Jack Demetriou brought the serious situation under control.
The pair have also been invited to the Three Lions’ UEFA Nations League game on November 18, along with Romania FA liaison officers Adrian Pana and Andrei Stancu, Rose and his partner, and North Riding FA’s Paul Campbell.
Head of National League System Laurence Jones said: “The speed and skill shown by Jack and Mike were exemplary and prevented it becoming a very serious situation.
“The support given by the two liaison officers from the Romanian FA was absolutely exceptional and included a number of trips from Buzau to Bucharest where Stuart was in hospital.
“He is on the road to recovery and it will be a real privilege to host them all at Wembley for an England international.”
