RAMPANT CITY CRACK BEAVERS FOR FOUR
HAMPTON & RICH 2 OXFORD CITY 4
HAMPTON’S poor recent run continued against a bustling Oxford City.
The Beavers again conceded a very early goal, City’s Zac McEachran cutting in from the right to bury the ball past Hampton keeper Tom Lovelock.
On ten minutes, Kabo Tshimanga outpaced the Hampton back four to earn a one on one against Lovelock, but the keeper was up to the challenge and saved low to his right.
Hampton had their first real chance midway through the first half, as Chris Dickson's pass found Dan Uchechi by the penalty spot, but his shot was well wide.
However, City extended their lead just before the half hour as Tshimanga turned in McEachran’s cross from the right, leaving Lovelock stranded.
Right on half-time, City took advantage of some poor defending by the Hampton defence as Joe Oastler rose highest to nod in McEachran’s corner.
Hampton got back into the game early in the second half with a 25-yard strike from Jack Connors that left City keeper Craig King flatfooted as he watched it fly into the net.
Oxford added another late on through Kyren Wiltshire before the Beavers got an injurytime consolation through a Jack Connor tap-in.
