Lambs undone by Tom’s double

TWO goals from Tom McGlinchey helped Coalville to a deserved win at Tamworth.

Gregg Smith’s penalty gave the lacklustre Lambs hope in the latter stages before Tim Berridge killed the game off in stoppage time.

The Ravens started well and McGlinchey fired wide while Kairo Mitchell saw a glancing header saved by Jas Singh.

It was Coalville who struck first on 32 minutes as Kyle Perry and Mitchell fashioned a chance for McGlinchey who placed his shot into the bottom corner.

Coalville doubled their lead just two minutes into the second half as McGlinchey curled the ball home from 18 yards.

Perry should have put the game to bed on 60 minutes but struck the post from close range after good work from Mitchell.

Tamworth were nearly handed a lifeline on 75 minutes as Soloha failed to hold Johnson’s cross and the ball fell for David Parkhouse who struck the post.

Soloha tipped a fine strike from Aman Verma over the bar before the Lambs pulled one back through Smith’s spot-kick.

Berridge was then set free and had the simple task of slotting into an empty net.
