MARTIN MCINTOSH is the new manager of Frickley Athletic after his surprise departure from Midland Premier League leaders Ilkeston Town. The former Buxton boss won 14 of his 19 matches in charge of the Robins, leaving them four points clear at the top, although chief operating officer Anthony Redwood suggested things weren’t quite right at the club. “Results have kept us in a very good position, but there are many other elements to the role that have to be right,” he said. But Ilkeston’s loss has been the gain of Evo-Stik East side Frickley, who have been without a manager since October when Spencer Fearn left to take a coaching role at Sheffield Wednesday. John Stancliffe has been in temporary charge at the Blues as they attempt to stabilise in the division.
