O’S NICK BIG GUN JORDAN OFF THE DRAGONS
JORDAN MAGUIREDREW says he jumped at the chance to join National League leaders Leyton Orient when his agent told him of the club’s interest.
Justin Edinburgh has handed the 21-year-old a two-and-a-half year contract, signing the highly-rated winger for an undisclosed fee from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Maguire-Drew first impressed in Non-League’s top-flight on loan at Dagenham in the 2016-17 season, scoring 16 goals before having spells in the Football League last season with Lincoln and Coventry.
He spent the first half of this campaign at Orient’s promotion rivals Wrexham, but has now linked up with the table toppers on a permanent basis.
“I got a call from my agent saying Orient wanted to sign me and I said ‘get it done’ straight away,” said Maguire-Drew, who will wear the No.10 shirt at Brisbane Road.
“It’s a great club to be at; it’s a club on the up and I want to be part of the success here.
“I like to get supporters off their seats; I like trying to make things happen, score goals, create goals, get the team up the pitch as much as I can when I get the ball.”
