Tigers return to their Treyew lair
TRURO CITY have ended their groundshare with Torquay United and will play the remainder of the season at their Treyew Road home.
The National League South side were forced to move out by owners JIL in August, who wanted to build a Lidl supermarket on the site with the planned Stadium of Cornwall set to become Truro’s new home.
However, by October building work still hadn’t begun with developers Helical Retail unable to reach an agreement with JIL to begin phase one of construction and subsequently the plans have been shelved although development talks are continuing.
It has meant Truro can now return home having seen a drastic fall in attendances after moving to Devon. The news will also please title-chasing Torquay, whose pitch has suffered due to the extra games.
