Four-goal Railwaymen on track

- By Martin Aimson

A SUPERB first-half performance saw Didcot Town thump Aylesbury United 4-1 away from home in a thrilling showing.

The game was only four minutes old when Town took the lead, Greg Hackett converting following an excellent ball from Callum McNish.

But the hosts equalised five minutes after when Max Hercules fired into the corner to put Aylesbury back into the game.

Just a minute later, the visitors went back into the lead when McNish poked home after a goalmouth scramble.

And amazingly, it was 3-1 after 13 minutes when John Dennis was quickest to a rebound to put Didcot firmly in control.

The game calmed down until the 39th minute when a beautiful free-kick from Seth Humphries ended the match as a contest.

The Ducks find themselves 14th in the Central table, nine points clear of the bottom two.
