STEP 5 ROUND-UPS WESSEX LEAGUE

ALRESFORD Town and Baffins Milton Rovers drew 2-2 in the Premier Division.

Liam Hibberd supplied Aaron Blaxall, who headed the visitors ahead on 18 minutes and that was how the score remained at half-time.

Baffins drew level on 46 minutes and then went ahead with 25 minutes remaining but Luke Rae equalised on 80 minutes with a 25-yard effort to earn a point for the Magpies.

Fareham Town were impressive 5-0 winners away at Bemerton Heath Harlequins. Former AFC Portcheste­r man, Simon Woods, was amongst the goals for the Creeksider­s.

Dan Mason scored a hat-trick for Sholing as they ran out 5-0 winners away to Lymington Town, while TJ Cuthbertso­n and Jake Hoole were also on target for Dave Diaper's side.

And Cameron Beard’s goal saw Bashley beat Christchur­ch 1-0.

WESTERN LEAGUE

WILLAND Rovers maintained a four-point lead at the top thanks to a convincing 4-0 win at Hengrove.

Top scorer Luke Mortimore broke the deadlock, with Luke Alden, Dean Stamp and Brad Ausden also netting.

A late effort from Jack Taylor helped Bridgwater edge to a narrow 1-0 victory against Hallen, with a pair of second-half penalties from Dan Kovacs leading Westbury to a 3-0 win over Roman Glass St George.

Two goals apiece from Dean Griffiths and Ben Bament helped Bitton claim a 4-2 victory at Bridport, while efforts from Ryan Bush and James Richards saw Buckland defeat Wellington 2-0.

Bradford Town struck twice in the final five minutes to salvage a 4-4 draw with Shepton Mallet, as Plymouth Parkway beat Clevedon 2-1, Odd Down defeated Cribbs, Chipping Sodbury and Brislingto­n drew 2-2 and Cadbury Heath edged Shortwood 1-0.

UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE

TITLE hopefuls Rugby Town lost 2-0 at Northampto­n ON Chenecks as Tyrell Barnard and Brandon Williams scored.

Leaders Daventry Town beat Wellingbor­ough Whitworth 4-0 with Adam Confue and Luke Emery doubles, Deeping Rangers bested Eynesbury Rovers 2-0, and Scott Coupland hit a hat-trick, Ryan Oliver two goals and Archie Moyses and Brad Hockin one each in Sleaford Town’s 73 triumph at Kirkby Muxloe.

Dominic Lawless’s goal in Newport Pagnell Town’s 1-0 home win over Harborough Town was their 3,000th in the league, while a Jason Turner penalty gave Desborough Town a 3-2 win at Peterborou­gh Northern Star.

Wellingbor­ough Town lost 2-1 to Holbeach, Leicester Nirvana drew 22 with Rothwell Corinthian­s and Pinchbeck v Boston Town and Cogenhoe v Oadby Town ended 1-1.

COMBINED COUNTIES

CHERTSEY Town stay top with a 2-0 win at Hanwell Town – Jake Baxter and Sam Murphy on target – but Sutton Common Rovers are level on points after a 3-0 win at Cobham with goals from Aidan Brown, Ollie Twum and Marlon Pinder.

Camberley Town lost 5-1 to Banstead Athletic – Joe Jones, Archie Watkins, Tommy Hutchings, Liam Holden and Joe Cheeseman scored.

Matt Kellet-Smith and Jack Collins netted for Knaphill in their 2-0 win at Guildford City, two goals from Tom Neale and one from Billy Frost saw Spelthorne Sports win 3-2 at Colliers Wood United and CB Hounslow United beat Horley Town 3-0.

Robbie Kersley netted as Abbey Rangers beat Balham 1-0, Jack May scored the only goal in Badshot Lea’s win at Southall, Redhill were held 3-3 by Walton & Hersham and Raynes Park Vale drew 2-2 at AFC Hayes.

NORTHERN COUNTIES EAST

PENISTONE Church moved to within a point of the summit with a 3-1 victory over Garforth Town.

Sam Scrivens bagged a brace with Jordan Coduri also on target to cancel out Curtly Martin-Wyatt’s opener. The fightback saw Church take full advantage of leaders Yorkshire Amateur losing 2-1 at Eccleshill United.

Devonte Newman-Morton had cancelled out Ryan Hargreaves’ opener but Andrew Cooper netted the winner.

Michael Burke’s 90th-minute leveller earned Staveley Miners Welfare a 1-1 draw with Knaresboro­ugh Town and Kevy Tarangatzo got Liversedge a 1-0 win over Hemsworth Miners Welfare.

Strugglers Harrogate Railway Athletic came close to a shock as Albert Ibrahimi’s penalty put them ahead at Bridlingto­n Town but Benn Lewis equalised late on. Athersley Recreation beat Barton Town 1-0, as did Goole against Albion Sports

EASTERN COUNTIES

HISTON are the new league leaders after a 3-0 win at struggling Great Yarmouth Town as Dan Brown, Max York and Edward Rolph netted.

Godmanches­ter Rovers drop to second after being held to a frustratin­g 2-2 draw by Brantham Athletic and Walsham-le-Willows are up to third after a 1-0 victory at Hadleigh United.

Elsewhere, Elliott Gibson, Valter Rocha and Robbie Priddle were Thetford Town’s scorers as they climbed out of the bottom three with a 3-0 home victory against Gorleston.

Wroxham secured an impressive 2-1 away success over Stowmarket Town and Liam Jackson struck two penalties for Norwich United, with Haydn Davis also on the scoresheet, as they triumphed 3-1 over Newmarket Town.

Woodbridge Town are up to fourth after beating Kirkley & Pakefield 3-2 and Jake Clowsley’s goal handed FC Clacton a 1-0 win at Long Melford.

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

HADLEY moved top after beating Harpenden Town 3-0 – goals from Ned Clarke, Paul Wright and Luke Alfano secured the hosts a 17th league win of the season.

Tring Athletic drop to second after a scintillat­ing 4-4 draw at North Greenford United. George Ironton and Kieran Turner were among Tring’s scorers but United equalised in injury-time.

Biggleswad­e FC remain third after they drew 1-1 at home to Oxhey Jets, with Alex Marsh on target for the hosts.

At the foot of the table, Stotfold remain bottom despite winning for just the second time this season, 2-1 at local rivals Arlesey Town – Dese DaSilva and Josh Miles on target.

Cockfoster­s are also in the bottom two as they lost 2-1 to Wembley.

Colney Heath lost 3-2 to Biggleswad­e United and Edgware Town won 3-1 against Leverstock Green as Steven Benavides got one.

SOUTHERN COMBINATIO­N

CHICHESTER CITY remain five points clear at the top after a comfortabl­e 3-0 away win against bottom side Eastbourne United AFC.

Ben Pashley, Ryan Peake and Josh Clack were all on target for the leaders.

Lee Robinson struck four times as second-placed Newhaven recorded a crushing 6-0 victory against struggling Arundel, while Harry Docherty and Oliver Davis were also on the scoresheet for the home side.

Elsewhere, Phil Johnson netted twice for Hassocks as they secured an impressive 5-3 win over third-placed Horsham YMCA and Saltdean United went down 2-0 away to Lingfield.

Aaron Capon grabbed a brace for Eastbourne Town as they climbed to fifth with a 3-1 win at lowly Loxwood.

AFC Uckfield Town were narrow 1-0 winners at home to East Preston and the match between Pagham and Little Common finished as a 2-2 draw.

HELLENIC LEAGUE

CURRENT Premier leaders Ascot United ousted Longlevens from the Bluefin Sport Challenge Cup with a 3-2 victory, as Lamin Sankoh, Daniel Price and Geoff Kibaki got their goals.

Wantage Town reached the semifinal with a 3-0 win over Binfield courtesy of goals from Kaylem Patterson, Jack Dunmall and Connor Mattimore.

Windsor saw off Cheltenham Saracens 3-2 thanks to a Dan Roberts hat-trick, while in the Bluefin Sport Supplement­ary Cup, Brackley Town Saints beat Tuffley Rovers 4-1.

Fairford Town beat Penn & Tylers Green 3-0, Didcot Town Developmen­t lost 4-1 at Flackwell Heath, Lydney Town beat Long Crendon 2-0, Holmer Green saw off Yateley United 1-0 and Woodley United edged Chalvey Sports 2-1.

In the league, Bishops Cleeve won 1-0 over Abingdon United and Ardley beat Royal Wootton Bassett Town 2-0.

JACK Butler scored a hat-trick as managerles­s Ashington won 5-3 at Guisboroug­h Town.

Second-bottom Whickham held leaders Consett to a 2-2 draw – with Danny Cragg’s injury-time free-kick salvaging a point for the Steelmen.

Title-chasing Dunston UTS beat Sunderland RCA 2-1 – Mark Fitzpatric­k with an 83rd-minute winner.

Jordan Lavery had cancelled out Scott Heslop’s opener for Dunston on the stroke of half-time.

Shildon won 3-1 at Newcastle Benfield, Billy Greulich-Smith with a brace for the Railwaymen.

Bottom club Penrith are still searching for their first win but picked up their fifth point with a 1-1 draw against Ryhope CW, while Seaham Red Star won 3-1 win against Newton Aycliffe.

NORTH WEST COUNTIES

CITY of Liverpool strengthen­ed their grip on the title with a 3-0 win at Squires Gate – Craig Cairns struck twice in the opening 30 minutes with Karl Clair sealing the deal to send City 14 points clear.

Long-time challenger­s Congleton Town were held to a 0-0 draw by Burscough and Bootle moved up to second as they beat Whitchurch Alport 5-2. Danny Murphy and Carl Peers levelled twice in the first half before Connor Mullington, Kieran Halligan and Steve Jones finished the job after the interval.

Carl Grimshaw’s hat-trick helped Charnock Richard leapfrog Barnoldswi­ck Town with a 5-0 win, FA Vase heroes Irlam won 4-2 at 1874 Northwich after an own goal and Marcus Perry’s strike settled it in the final 12 minutes, while Lennon Whewell’s brace saw Litherland REMYCA’s beat Runcorn Town 2-1.

IT WAS a good day for the titlechasi­ng teams as the top six all won and Cray Valley led the way with a 5-0 triumph at K Sports. The Millers led 4-0 at the break, with Anthony Edgar adding the final goal. Chatham Town came from 3-1 down to win a seven-goal thriller at Tunbridge Wells, with Jon Pilbeam scoring twice after Ben Wilson reduced the deficit in the 77th minute. Corinthian were twice pegged back at Canterbury City before Sam Bewick’s penalty secured a 3-2 win to stay level with leaders Fisher, who also won 3-2 at home to Bearsted. Luis Medina and Richard Atkins socred as Beckenham Town won 2-0 at Lordswood while Rob Denness’ late goal secured a 2-0 win for Sheppey United at Rusthall. ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE

STANSTED opened up a threepoint lead as James Peagram notched all four to beat Clapton 4-2. His first three goals were all penalties as Clapton had Dilan Ebengo sent off and after Clapton made a game of it with two in three minutes, Peagram got his fourth to seal the points. Saffron Walden scored three second-half goals to beat Hoddesdon Town 3-1, Reece Barrett scored two penalties as Enfield won 2-1 at Stanway Rovers and Barkingsid­e came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Leyton Athletic, so they remain the bottom two – Leyton three points ahead. Redbridge won 2-1 at Hullbridge Sports and there were also 2-1 away wins for St Margaretsb­ury at Tower Hamlets and Ilford at Walthamsto­w. TIVIDALE took another giant stride towards the league title with a 1-0 win at Hereford Lads Club.

Darragh Bustin scored a penalty after Dan Smith was brought down.

The result leaves Tivvy a titanic 14 points clear of closest rivals Wolves Casuals who continue to press their claims for second spot with a 4-0 defeat of Dudley Sports.

Scott Powell plundered a double for the Cassies with Kieron Whittaker and Kieron Miller also scoring.

Haughmond held on to third by beating Bewdley Town 1-0, Kevan Renshaw registerin­g the only goal after scoring direct from a corner.

Wednesfiel­d beat Dudley Town 5-2, as Ben Perks bagged a brace with Brad Sharman, Chadd Birch and James Quarry also scoring, while Chris Rabone and Owen Massey replied.

EAST MIDLANDS LEAGUE

SEAN Green missed two penalties but still ended up on the winning side as Kimberley Miners won 1-0 at Rainworth with Adam Morley sparing his team-mate’s blushes.

Kyle Fowkes scored twice but missed a penalty in Ingles’ 6-1 win at Borrowash, leaders Newark were 2-0 winners against Clifton through Tom Potts and Sam Agar, while Selston stay level on points thanks to first-half goals from Carl Moore and Kenan Layton in their 2-1 victory at Belper.

Ryan Whitehurst was on target in West Bridgford’s 2-0 win at high-flying Eastwood and bottom club Arnold registered a first win of the season, beating Ashby 4-2, while Radford move up to third after a 4-1 defeat of Sherwood – Ryan Smith scored twice.

Michael Fitzhugh netted the winner for Graham Street against Clipstone, Heanor got a 3-3 draw at Gedling and Teversal won 2-1 at Barrow.

SOUTH WEST PENINSULA

TAVISTOCK closed to within six points of leaders Plymouth Argyle Reserves with their 4-0 home hammering of struggling Launceston.

Josh Grant and Jack Crago both hit braces as Tavvy eased past their second-bottom visitors.

Third-placed Exmouth Town were also big victors, winning 3-0 at Godolphin Atlantic with Jordan Harris and Ace High among the scorers.

Bottom club Sticker drew 2-2 against Falmouth Town, who dropped to sixth in the table, with Cullompton Rangers – 2-0 winners over Callington Town – moving above them.

Saltash United thrashed Newquay 4-0, Richard Maddison scoring twice with Sam Hughes and Dave Trott adding the others.
