Casuals fight back to earn the points

- By Malcolm Parker

CASUALS turned around an early goal deficit to win this local derby.

Leatherhead started the match well and were ahead after seven minutes. A good move down the right saw Shaun Okojie free and his fierce shot could only be parried by keeper Danny Bracken to Jazz Wallace who side-footed home.

Casuals came more into the game and Warren Mfula found Gabrial Odunaike whose powerful effort was well saved by keeper Zaki Oualah. Minutes later Mfula’s drive was parried by Oualah to Odunaike who fired home.

On 31 minutes the Corinthians were level when Mu Maan’s superb through ball found Odunaike whose first time shot found the corner of the net.

Just on half-time Leatherhead’s Travis Gregory fired in a dipping 25 yarder just over the bar.

Casuals eventually began to control the play. On 61 minutes they were ahead when a great team move saw Juevan Spencer clear and his low cross was swept home by Odunaike.

Jordan Clarke dragged a shot wide and Reece Hannigan should have done better.

In the last minutes substitute Max Oldham’s superb run and cross was somehow cleared by Jerry Nnamini.

STAR MAN: Gabriel Odunaike (Casuals) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
