THEOBALDS THE HERO AS ANGELS UPSET KS
THE LEAGUE formbook was once again flipped upside down as Tonbridge Angels deservedly overcame inform Kingstonian.
The home side took the lead after ten minutes when Chinedu McKenzie fed the ball to fellow striker Alex Read who flicked the ball past keeper Rob Tolfrey.
The Angels doubled their advantage on 27 minutes when Reid turned provider with a pass to Joe Turner whose shot from the edge of the area nestled in the corner of the net.
Kingstonian responded in dramatic fashion by levelling the scoreline on the stroke of half time.
Tonbridge were caught out by a short corner routine with Dean Inman producing the header and then, with hardly time to draw breath, Shaun McAuley beat Angels keeper Jonny Henly to complete the comeback.
The second half saw Angels front pairing of Read and McKenzie provide plenty of problems for the Kingstonian defence with D’Sean Theobalds influential in midfield, while at the other end Rhys Murrell Williamson was proving a handful.
The winning goal came in the 71st minute with a Tonbridge free kick that was fumbled by Tolfrey and McKenzie in attendance close in forced the ball over the line.
