YAWSON’S MINT FOR THE FIELD
PRESCOT Cables dropped vital points at home after they were held to a draw at home to Kendal Town.
The first half passed without any real incident as both sides struggled to get a foot hold on the game.
The only real chance of note fell to Michael Monaghan in the third minute, his shot from a James Cooper through ball was well saved.
Kendal’s best chance fell to full back Matthew Clarke whose long drive forced a good low save from Ben Barnes.
Monaghan was also brought down in the box on 43 for what seemed a clear penalty but the referee waved play on.
The second half saw Cables increase the intensity but still struggled to break a resolute Kendal Town defence.
The deadlock was finally broken on 63 minutes when Substitute Josh Klein-Davies crossed for Matthew Hamilton to head into the bottom corner but Kendal equalised late on when Stephen Yawson slid in.
