PILGRIMS PUNISH BOSSLESS HARRIERS

- By Adam Matthews

MAX WRIRGHT and Ben Davies scored to seal victory for Boston in this bad-tempered affair, ending a turbulent week for Kidderminster in which they sacked manager Neil MacFarlane and suffered three defeats.

Wright’s early strike was cancelled out by Joe Ironside, but a penalty from former Harrier Davies shortly before half-time proved to be the Pilgrims’ winner.

Boston’s opener came from Kiddie indecision.

Declan Weeks was dispossessed by Brad Abbott, who set free Jay Rollins and in turn laid the ball off to Wright to fire past Brandon Hall from 12 yards.

Ironside levelled the scores for Harriers in the 32nd minute. Sam Austin’s crossfield ball found Dan Bradley, who delivered the perfect cross for the Kiddie marksman to finish from close range.

Josh Heaton conceded a penalty for a foul on Gavin Allott six minutes before the break.

Davies’ spot-kick found the net off the underside of the bar.

The Pilgrims should have put it to bed shortly after the hour, but Rollins placed his effort well wide of Hall’s upright.

In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Harriers sub Kane Richards received a straight red for his protests after he felt his shot was handballed.
