DULWICH DAMNED BY EAGER BEAVERS

- By Darren Barnard

MATTY WICHELOW’s early opener, and a goal from more familiar scorer Chris Dickson, helped Hampton to their first win in six games.

Dulwich’s winless streak was extended to four games after they conceded twice in the first 11 minutes and never recovered, despite exerting plenty of pressure on the Hampton goal.

Wichelow entered the Hamlet box in the fifth minute and only had one intention, which he executed fantastically, rifling the ball into the top corner.

The Beavers doubled the lead six minutes later when debutant Nana Kyei ran down the left flank and picked out Dickson who beat his marker at the near post and tapped the ball in.

The visitors had the majority of possession after the second goal and great link-up play between Quade Taylor and Decarrey Sheriff forced a goal-saving block from midfielder Tyrell Miller-Rodney before the break.

Hamlet’s sustained pressure continued on Tom Lovelock’s goal at the beginning of the second half as Hampton looked nervy.

Dominic Vose’s leftfooted effort went a whisker wide of the right-hand post.

And Dulwich had other chances to get back into the game but couldn’t take them.
