KETTERING BATTLING QUALITIES ON SHOW

- By Steve Cartwright

THE RAVENS and Poppies fought out a great game with the visitors snatching an injury time equaliser.

Coalville came close to the opener as a corner found Kieran Fenton in the box but his header hit the inside of the post and was cleared.

A mistake by Ravens keeper Richard Walton saw his attempted clearance go straight to Dan Holman who was clear in the box but Walton redeemed himself with a save.

The second half was just a frantic as the first, with Tom McGlinchey going close for the home side before Rhys Hoeness had an effort ruled out for offside.

The post saved Kettering for a second time as Tim Berridge outpaced their defence but his effort came back off the post.

Moments later, Coalville took the lead as Andrew Wright put a corner in for striker Kyle Perry to head powerfully home.

The lead didn’t let last long though as Holman found space in the box to fire home.

Moment later, Perry got his and Coalville’s second as he got his head on Wright’s corner. Coalville should have further extended their lead with Berridge through on goal.

In the second minute of injury time, Aaron O’Connor burst into the box and rounded Walton to level things up.
