TON-UP FOR GOAL ACE FISH

- By Rory Baird

MICHAEL Fish bagged his 100th Mossley goal as the visitors came from behind to defeat Radcliffe in a 4-3 stunner.

Radcliffe took the lead when Lewis Lacy headed in Elliott Rokka’s corner but Mossley equalised when Max Leonard tucked home.

Leonard scored his second just after the break and when a free-kick deflected in off Lacy, Mossley were 3-1 up.

Ben Wharton got one back for Radcliffe when he lobbed the keeper, and the comeback looked complete when Tunde Owolabi made it 3-3.

But Fish tapped in from close range to complete the seven-goal thriller, before the afternoon got worse for Radcliffe when Rick Smith saw red for a bad challenge.

The goals were flying in and none more so than at Colne, who battered

Market Drayton 8-1. The Reds took the lead after 12 minutes when Ollie Wood fired home to round off a great build up by Alex Curran and Josh Hine, while Brad Lynch doubled their lead with a superb solo effort.

Wood scored his second on 26 minutes with the visitors’ defence under almost constant pressure, with Hine making it 4-0 with a superb far-post header.

Lynch hooked the ball home in a crowded goalmouth to make it 5-0 by half-time.

Five minutes after the break and it was six thanks to a Hine 25-yarder, though Ryan McLean pulled one back with his own superb shot from distance.

The Colne goal-rush wasn’t over however, Hine bagging his hat-trick late on before Curran ended the rout with 13 minutes to go. Elsewhere, Runcorn

Linnets made the most of Radcliffe’s defeat with a 21 win over Prescot Cables.

Cables were given a chance to take the lead on 32 minutes when Michael Monaghan was brought down in the box, but the same man saw his penalty superbly saved by Matt Holmes.

And minutes later the visitors were punished when Paul Shanley fired home following poor marking. It was to get worse for Cables when Mitchell Bryant finished calmly after more bad defending, with a Bobby Evans own goal proving not enough to stop Linnets moving into second place.

Trafford’s hopes of entering the play-off places were ended by Danny Andrews’ injurytime winner as Colwyn

Bay extended their unbeaten run to six with a 2-1 victory.

The visitors took the lead after 15 minutes through Declan Rydings' close-range finish, but Bay were level 11 minutes later when Andrews was brought down and skipper Tom McCready lashed home the penalty.

Trafford were reduced to ten men on 72 minutes when James Moore got a second yellow card, with hopes of a point ended when Andrews scored in added time from Ethan Devine’s cross.

Trafford’s punishment for defeat was to be overtaken by Ramsbottom United, who put Glossop

North End to the sword in the 5-0 triumph.

Jamie Rainford scored from a tight angle to put the hosts ahead on the cusp of the break.

But the second half made all the difference, Nic Evangelinos’s double, another Rainford strike and Richard Brodie’s goal winning the game. Elsewhere, Newcastle

Town scored twice in the last seven minutes to take all three points against a

Clitheroe side who finished with nine men.

The visitors were up against it when George West was sent off after 28 minutes for an off-the-ball incident.

However Clitheroe took the lead when Harry Pratt fired home from the edge of the box. Castle drew level six minutes from the end when Kyle Stubbs turned in the box to fire home. Two minutes later Castle were ahead when Chris Smith finished off a sweeping move, with Clitheroe reduced again when Andreas Bianca was sent off for pulling back James Steele.
