PENRITH finally recorded their first win at the 22nd attempt after a 2-0 victory at sixth-bottom Ashington.

Shaun Gardner’s fifth minute goal was followed by a clincher from Martyn Coleman early in the second half.

At the other end of the table Dunston UTS knocked Consett off the top after a 5-2 win at Newton Aycliffe.

Mark Fitzpatric­k scored a hat-trick while Jack Elliott and Jordan Nellis also found the net. Aycliffe played three quarters of the game with 10 men after Josh Rodgers was sent off

Consett were held 3-3 at home by Whitley Bay.

Michael Sweet, Luke Carr and Danny Craggs’s goals for Consett were cancelled out by Craig McFarlane, Olly Martin and Peter Glen-Ravenhill.

Bishop Auckland moved into second spot following their 3-1 win over Newcastle Benfield at Heritage Park.

Kieran Galbraith’s header, a second from Kyle Fryatt and another midway through the second half from Andrew Johnson saw Bishops home.

Guisboroug­h Town had a 2-0 home win over North Shields, Mark Robinson with a penalty opener.

Mason McNeil wrapped up the game with the Priorymen’s second goal nine minutes into the second half.

Shildon beat lowly Seaham Red Star 3-2, while Whickham lost 2-1 at home to Stockton Town.

NORTHERN COUNTIES EAST

YORKSHIRE Amateur ended a run of three straight defeats on what turned out to be a terrible day for Barton Town.

They won 3-0 thanks to goals from Devonte Newman-Morton and Ashley Flynn before Gareth Barlow’s own goal rounded off the scoring.

To make matters worse, Barton forward Danny Chambers ended up in hospital, having been attended to by paramedics on the pitch.

Brett Lovell’s added-time winner saw Penistone Church keep up the pressure with a 3-2 win at Hemsworth Miners Welfare.

Sam Jones put Welfare in front, with Nash Connolly doubling the deficit. An own goal from Edward Cass turned the tide, with Andrew Ring levelling.

Penistone piled on the pressure and Lovell fired home a late free-kick.

Jordan Turner rattled in a hat-trick in Maltby Main’s 4-2 success over Liversedge while three goals in the opening 11 minutes saw Worksop Town cruise to a 4-1 win against Athersley Recreation.

Bridlingto­n Town also won 4-1 at Hall Road Rangers, with Staveley Miners Welfare achieving the same scoreline at Albion Sports.

Garforth Town drew 1-1 with Thackley, a result Goole repeated against Bottesford Town. Handsworth Parramore won 2-1 at Harrogate Railway Athletic.

MIDLAND LEAGUE

TITLE-chasing Westfields hit Boldmere St Michaels for six, with ex-Hereford hotshot John Mills on the score sheet twice.

Fields climbed back to second and to within six points of leaders Ilkeston Town, having laid the foundation­s through Aidan Thomas and Ben Miller.

Jamie Molyneux added the third and Mills soon got in on the act.

Sam Rawlings then netted and Mills completed the scoring in the final minute.

Jake Betts salvaged a 3-3 draw for Shepshed Dynamo in the seventh minute of added time against Lye Town.

Resurgent Worcester City made it seven points from three matches with a

2-1 win over 10-man South Normanton Athletic.

George Forsyth rattled in his fourth in as many matches for City, with Liam Lockett guiding low across goal within a minute of the second half beginning.

Kieran O’Connell halved the arrears from the penalty spot before Dominic Allen was sent off for a challenge on Grant Horton.

The division’s top scorer Stephen Hart continued on the goal trail with a brace in Quorn’s 4-1 win over Dunkirk, while Harry Bestwick fired home Long Eaton United’s winner in a 1-0 success at Stourport Swifts.

Loughborou­gh University drew 1-1 with Coventry United.

SOUTHERN COUNTIES EAST

CORINTHIAN capitalise­d on their title rivals being without fixtures to give themselves a three-point lead at the top of the table.

The Hoops picked up a vital three points on the road as they came away from AFC Croydon Athletic’s Thorton Heath home with a 2-1 after enduring a nerve-jangling final few minutes.

The result gives Corinthian a certain amount of breathing space ahead of second-placed Fisher, who exited the Kent Senior Trophy at the hands of Beckenham Town.

Meanwhile, Punjab United put in a battling display to ease their relegation fears as a gutsy performanc­e saw them come away from promotionc­hasing Deal Town with a share of the spoils, after they held the home side to a 2-2 draw.

Cray Valley PM eased to a comfortabl­e home win over Canterbury City to cement their position in the top half of the table.

Crowboroug­h emphatical­ly beat 13th-placed Glebe, meanwhile Lordswood will be looking to build further momentum into the second half of the season after easing past Erith Town.

Finally, in the highest-scoring victory of the day, Sheppey United put on a sterling display for their home supporters as they thrashed Croydon with four unanswered goals at the Havill Stadium. HUGO VARLEY

EASTERN COUNTIES

GODMANCHES­TER Rovers remain two points clear at the top after Michael Hyem netted a late winner winning goal to hand them a dramatic 3-2 away victory against Wroxham.

Histon are still second after Danny Gould and Matt Green were both on target in a 2-1 home win against Woodbridge Town.

Stowmarket Town are up to third after Ryan Clark struck their winner in a 3-2 away success against Walshamle-Willows.

Both sides finished the game with ten men after two red cards were shown in the first half.

Elsewhere, Hadleigh United boosted their survival hopes after Kris Rose’s late goal gave them a vital 3-2 away victory against Haverhill Rovers while bottom side Framlingha­m Town lost 3-2 at home to Thetford Town.

Dan Rowe grabbed a hat-trick for Brantham Athletic as they beat struggling Great Yarmouth Town 5-1 at home.

Gorleston suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Kirkley & Pakefield.

In the day’s other games, Sam Gomarsall netted twice for Newmarket Town in a comfortabl­e 3-0 home triumph over Ely City.

Norwich United lost 2-0 away to FC Clacton and the match between Whitton United and Long Melford finished in a 2-2 draw. RORY HAYWARD

SOUTHERN COMBINATIO­N

NEWHAVEN are now level on points with leaders Chichester City after running out 2-0 winners away to Crawley Down Gatwick thanks to Lee Robinson’s brace.

Chichester had to settle for a point as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Saltdean United.

Toby House gave the visitors an early lead but Ryan Peake equalised for the league leaders five minutes before the break.

Guy Harding and Jack Hartley were both on target for Horsham YMCA as they secured a 2-0 away victory over Peacehaven & Telscombe and Eastbourne Town are up to fourth after a 3-1 away win against Lancing.

Elsewhere, Ash Mutongerwa’s goal was enough to hand struggling Loxwood a vital 1-0 away success over Langney Wanderers and Arundel remain in the bottom three after suffering a crushing 7-2 defeat away to AFC Uckfield Town.

James Littlejohn and Phil Johnson both scored for Hassocks as they beat bottom side Eastbourne United AFC 2-0 and Jamie Taylor struck twice for Broadbridg­e Heath in a 3-0 home victory over Little Common.

In the day’s other two games, East Preston lost 1-0 at home to Lingfield, with Sammy Clements scoring for the away side, and the match between Shoreham and Pagham finished in a goalless draw. RORY HAYWARD

UNITED COUNTIES

GOALS from Adam Creaney and Tommy McGowan reinforced leaders Daventry Town’s claim to the title as they returned from Wellingbor­ough Town with a 2-0 win.

Rugby Town come back from two goals down at home to Peterborou­gh Northern Star to force a 2-2 draw.

The visitors scored though Jack Bloodworth and Harry Fitzjohn with Edwin Ahenkorah responding with a double.

Jonny Lockie, Scott Mooney and Michael Simpson netted for hosts Deeping Rangers in their 3-0 home win over second-from-bottom Kirby Muxloe.

A 75th-minute goal from James Ireland saw Oadby Town beat visitors Newport Pagnell Town 5-4, Tom Magan grabbing a hat-trick.

Wellingbor­ough Whitworth were crushed 7-0 at home by Northampto­n ON Chenecks, with Brandon Williams getting a hat-trick, Charlie Green a double, Matthew Reeve one goal, after an own goal had started the rout.

Boston Town hit five without reply past Leicester Nirvana, with Jacob Fenton hitting two and Danny Horton, along, Fraser Bayliss and Robert Raducan, one each. Danny Draper and Craig Smith scored as Eynesbury Rovers beat Desborough Town 2-0.

Holbeach United won 2-0 at Sleaford Town, with goals from James Tricks and Spencer Tinkler.

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

HADLEY maintained their position at the top of the Premier Division table with a 3-0 win against London Colney.

Yemi Buraimoh gave them a halftime lead before goals from Alfie Bartram and Manny Hammond earned them an 18th league victory.

Second and third met at the Grass Roots Stadium where Tring Athletic lost 2-0 to Biggleswad­e.

Lee Northfield scored the opening goal when he reacted quickest to Alex Marsh’s cross and it was Marsh himself who settled matters from close range after the break.

Biggleswad­e United closed in on third after they beat bottom side Stotfold 3-1. Codi Spavins scored

twice for United with James Cooper also on target. Dessie Da Silva replied for the visitors from the penalty spot.

Three of the bottom four won, with Cockfoster­s recording an excellent 32 win at Crawley Green, George Beattie scoring twice.

Meanwhile, London Tigers beat Leverstock Green 2-0 with Ardolan Ghamuar on target. Harpenden Town also won with James Yates scoring twice in the 4-1 win over North Greenford United.

Elsewhere, Lewis Barker scored twice as Baldock Town beat Colney Heath 2-1 and Ash Kerley scored the only goal as Oxhey Jets recorded a 10 win against Potton United.

WESSEX LEAGUE

SHOLING maintained their unbeaten run this season with yet another victory, this time beating Southampto­n-based rivals Team Solent 3-2 to leave them ten points clear of second placed Portland United.

The visitors took the lead inside 29 minutes and this was maintained into the second-half. Lee Wort equalised for Sholing on 51 minutes but Team Solent then went straight back down the other end to make it 2-1.

Marvin McLean equalised again when he drew the hosts level on 55 minutes. Jake Hoole fired Sholing ahead on the hour mark and Dave Diaper’s men held on for the win.

Bournemout­h Poppies picked up an excellent victory with a 4-2 away win at AFC Portcheste­r.

Prolific frontman Steve Flynn netted a hat-trick for the visitors at the Wicor Recreation Ground. River Smith was also on target for Poppies.

Luke Rae scored twice for Alresford Town in their 6-0 triumph at home to Cowes Sports. George Farrelly, Paul Coventry, Chris Mason and Aaron Blaxall were also on the scoresheet to secure a comfortabl­e win for Richard Luffman’s side.

Sean McMonagle, Alfie Lis and Fuzz Kanjanda were all on target for Horndean as they were 3-0 winners at home to Brockenhur­st at Fiveheads Park. MATT RICHBELL

WESTERN LEAGUE

TOP-OF-THE-TABLE Willand Rovers stretched their unbeaten run to 12 matches with a 9-0 thumping of Cadbury Heath at Silver Street.

The dominant Devonians wasted no time in going ahead through Craig Duff, before Ryan Guppy and Dean Stamp added to the lead.

Top scorer Luke Mortimore got in on the act and Brett Worbey and Brad Ausden added brace either side Luke Alden’s goal.

Westbury United enjoyed a 5-0 triumph at home to Hengrove Athletic, with Callum Demkiv scoring twice.

Buckland rebounded from a disappoint­ing midweek result to defeat Hallen 4-0.

After Ryan Bush had put the home side ahead with his left foot, Chris Todd headed home at the end of the first half to double the advantage. Jordan Ewing scored twice from close range in the final few minutes to clinch the spoils for the Bucks.

A late Cribbs winner secured a 2-1 win over Brislingto­n after they fell behind to Mike Rimmer’s opener.

Cribbs equalised two minutes before the break through Jason Vincent, before Dan Monk slotted the decisive goal eight minutes from time.

And finally, Wellington overturned a half-time deficit to defeat Roman Glass St George 2-1.

Lewis Tasker and Tom Hawkings were the men on target.

ESSEX SENIOR

LEADERS Stansted made a dramatic comeback to draw against strugglers Barkingsid­e, who led 2-0 five minutes from time.

Goals from Olly Bell and Jack West, eight minutes into added time, rescued a point for the Airportmen.

Takeley were held to a draw by neighbours Sawbridgew­orth, with both goals coming in the last 15 minutes. Julian Lloyd equalised for Sawbridgew­orth four minutes from time.

There was a worrying incident at St Margaretsb­ury when the game was called off four minutes from the end after the assistant referee had a health issue. Walthamsto­w were leading 4-0 at the time and the league will decide if the result stands.

On Friday night, Hullbridge Sports won 4-0 at struggling Leyton Athletic while a stoppage-time equaliser earned Woodford Town a point at home to West Essex in a 2-2 draw.

Clapton and Southend Manor shared two goals at the Spotted Dog while Hoddesdon Town needed a stoppage-time second goal to see off Sporting Bengal United.

Redbridge were 3-2 winners at Ilford as Jay Knight’s double just before half-time made the big difference.

Stanway Rovers’ Scott Kemp scored four minutes into stoppage time to see off Tower Hamlets.

JAKE Baxter’s last-gasp goal earned hosts Chertsey Town a 10 victory over Camberley Town, keeping them top on goal difference.

Hard on their heels are Sutton Common Rovers, who beat Hanworth Villa 5-1 thanks to a Marlon Pinder hat-trick and a goal each from Ollie Twum and Phil Page.

Banstead Athletic are third after beating CB Hounslow United 1-0 after a late strike from Owen Davies.

Two goals from Alex Hendrie gave Abbey Rangers a hard-won 2-1 victory over Spelthorne Sports.

Redhill returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory at Balham as Kery Kedze and Michael Campbell scored.

Returning Horley Town manager Antony Jupp had much cause to celebrate at his side beat AFC Hayes 2-1, Adam Pullin scoring their two goals.

Guildford City won 2-0 at Cobham, with goals from Bobby Webbe and Kyen Nicholas.

An 87th-minute strike from Reece Connolly following an earlier leveller from Mac Ford saw hosts Badshot Lea beat Raynes Park Vale 2-1.

Southall saw off visitors Colliers Wood United through strikes from Eddie Edrissa-Dampha and Rico FauxJames.

Knaphill won 4-2 at Walton & Hersham with goals from Jack Leighton, Matt Kellet-Smith, Sheridan Campbell and Martin Smith.

HELLENIC LEAGUE

BRIMSCOMBE & Thrupp climbed to the top of the table with a 3-1 victory at home to Reading City.

Jack Smith hit a first-half double with Ashley Caldwell making sure late on.

With previous leaders Ascot United without a game, Brackley Town Saints needed a win to go top but could manage only a goalless draw against Flackwell Heath.

Kevin Slack opened the scoring for Bishops Cleeve after 17 seconds against Binfield.

He later added a penalty for the hosts, with Brad Martin hitting a double and Elliot Kennedy and Ash Davies one each for a 6-3 win.

An 85th-minute goal from Lewis Thompson gave Lydney Town a 1-0 victory at Abingdon United.

Second-half goals from Ben Cook and Steve Robertson helped Wantage Town come back to win 2-1 at Royal Wootton Bassett Town, who had led through Bradley Pagliaroli.

Ryan Stanners and Antonio Gerrish were on target for Shrivenham in their 2-0 win over visitors Holmer Green.

An 88th-minute goal from Kieran Knight saw Windsor snatch a 1-1 draw at Ardley United.
