A DRAMATIC second-half recovery saw AFC Sudbury come from two goals behind to claim a 4-3 victory against Tilbury.

The visitors’ Lewis Smith dominated the opening half, the striker scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 2nd and 37th minutes as well as a stoppage-time penalty after he had been fouled by Joe Whight, who scored for AFC on 22 minutes with a header.

Sudbury reduced the arrears on 69 minutes when Reece Harris rifled into the net and four minutes later they were level when Harris set up Tom Dettmar who stabbed into the bottom corner, before Callum Harrison’s was flick headed into the net by Billy Holland.

Elsewhere Billy Johnson scored a winner eight minutes from time as Great Wakering Rovers beat Romford 2-1.

Romford had the better of the opening period and it told shortly after the break as replacement Reece Hewitt put them ahead just after half-time.

It forced Rovers to improve and their substitute Joshua Wiggins got the equaliser on 67 minutes.

Rovers continued to push and hit the woodwork three times before Matthew Rush beat his defender down the right and whipped in for Johnson to head home.

Meanwhile, Barking were undone by Canvey

Island in 3-1 victory. Adam Vyse found space to turn and shoot into the bottom left corner to give the visitors the leadm before he turned provider for Frankie Merrifield.

The second half continued in the same vein and Canvey did get their third as Martin Tuohy finished off acounterattack., before Tobi Joseph’s consolation.

Two goals in four firsthalf minutes was enough for Bury Town as they beat Felixstowe & Walton United 2-0. The hosts had a couple of early chances before Ryley Scott opened the scoring, picking up the ball out wide, driving into the box and striking past the keeper.

It was not long before they doubled their lead, as Jake Chambers-Shaw made no mistake as he

placed his effort into the bottom corner.

Ethan Clarke saw red for the visitors before half-time for a reckless sliding tackle, as they struggled for the rest of the game with ten men.

Heybridge Swifts were upset 3-1 at Soham Town

Rangers, as Callum Russell’s second-half double helped them to victory at Julius Martin Lane.

Sam Mulready put the hosts ahead after 14 minutes before Kreshnic Krasniqi’s drew them level nine minutes later.

But Soham had the best of the game after the break and Russell’s two goals in nine second-half minutes was enough to see them take a win, as they look to pull clear of the relegation places.

Early goals from Jeffrey Cobblah and Matheus Santos guided Basildon

United to a 2-1 win against Brentwood Town.

The visitors failed to clear after nine minutes as Cobblah capitalised to slot in from close range.

Santos doubled the lead shortly after as Cobblah squared for him to strike past Rob Budd in the Brentwood goal.

After the break Ernest Okoh set up Tony Stokes to reduce arrears and the pair both had chances as the game wound down to make it 2-2 but they were unable to take advantage.

Matthew Castellan’s goal meant Dereham

Town took a point away after coming from behind against Aveley to draw 1-1.

Andy Freeman had put the visitors ahead just before half-time when he latched onto Shad Ngandu’s through ball before chipping the keeper.

The Millers continued to create chances in the second but Dereham made them pay 18 minutes from time as Castellan headed in from Daniel Beaumont’s free-kick as the basement side got a point.
