WISEMAN NETS FOR THE REDS

- By Nick Thatcher

IT was a day to remember for mid-table Uxbridge as they recorded an impressive 5-0 victory against

Molesey at The Herds Renault Stadium.

The Reds threatened from the off but had to wait until six minutes before the break to take the lead when Luke Maguire beat two men before coolly slotting into the bottom left corner.

And they added another just two minutes later when Tyrone Pink was slipped inside by Charlie Malin to tap home the second goal.

Pink went from provider to finisher when he curled an effort from the edge of the area into the bottom corner.

Just four minutes later Uxbridge had goal number four when Mitchell Wiseman capitalised from a poorly cleared corner and Craige Tomkins completed the rout with a neat finish at the far post.

South Park made it back to back home wins with a 3-2 home win over Hertford Town.

Park took the lead in the tenth minute when Ryan Richefond took a short corner to Jake Hill whose cross was turned home by Great Evans from six yards.

The youngster doubled the lead four minutes later when he picked the ball up out wide on the left, cut inside his marker and curled a delightful shot into the top corner from 35 yards.

Jay Lovell pulled a goal back two minutes later when he got to the ball and headed home a right wing free kick.

Park increased their lead to 3-1 in the 64th minute when Andrew Herring moved inside and hit a thunderbolt of a shot across the keeper from 25 yards that flew into the top corner.

But Elliott Bailey pulled a goal back for Hertford from close range to set up a grandstand finish as both teams had further chances but neither could add to their tally and extend the hosts’ lead.

Meanwhile, two firsthalf goals in three minutes from Ashford

Town striker James Cottee proved enough to claim a 2-0 away win over FC Romania. The Tangerines probed

throughout the opening period and got their reward when Cottee curled in a fine effort from the edge of the area to score.

Then just three minutes later the visitors had doubled their advantage when Cottee managed to round Romania keeper Adrian Darabant and fire into an empty net for his second strike.

Both teams had chances after the break, but Ashford managed to hold out to seal the win. Waltham Abbey’s push for the play-offs continued with a 2-1 comeback victory against Egham Town.

The visitors went ahead after 25 minutes when Brandon McCarthy slotted past Egham’s Lamar Johnson at Capershotts.

And they maintained their advantage until Jack Stevenson fired home the equaliser on 65 minutes.

But five minutes from time the score was settled when Christian Assombalonga broke through to hammer in the winner and make sure his side took the win. Tristan Rees’ reign at

Westfield started in perfect fashion with an entertaining 2-0 victory over Chipstead after leaving Guildford City in midweek.

The hosts were ahead inside five minutes when Tinashe Nkoma provided a deft touch to notch up the opener and they doubled the lead when Antonios Kozakis struck the second goal of the game on 34 minutes. Play-off contenders

Marlow sealed a comfortable 1-0 win over Bedfont

Sports to keep them third in the table as James Clark’s first-half strike clinched the win.

In anything but a classic game between the two sides, the hosts took the lead when Clark found space in the area to turn and fire in the match winning goal with 24 minutes on the clock.

Elsewhere, Tooting and Mitcham United and Hanwell Town played out a 0-0 draw as the hosts dominated but struggled to find the all-important winner.
