JUMPING Jack Jepson smashed in a first half hat-trick as Gedling Miners hit Borrowash for five.

The striker netted in the third, 19th and 38th minutes to put the Miners on course to victory, with second-half strikes from Courtney Hastings and Liam Corrigan wrapping things up.

Selston leapfroged rivals Newark Flowserve into top spot on the back of a 1-0 win at West Bridgford, Kenan Layton scoring.

Newark’s match at Rainworth was one of four that fell victim to the weather, while Eastwood bounced back from defeat to win 2-0 at Radford with goals from Danny Hayes and Jack Allen.

Clifton were 2-1 winners against Heanor, with Craig Meakin scoring just after Kyle Daley had cancelled out Daryll Thomas’s opener.

Barrow beat Graham Street 1-0 and Kimberley defeated Arnold 3-0.

SOUTH WEST PENINSULA

TAVISTOCK continued their title charge with a thumping 4-0 triumph at in-form Ivybridge Town.

With league leaders Plymouth Argyle inactive this weekend, Tavistock are now just three points off the top, with three games in hand.

The teams immediatel­y below the top two played each other and did themselves no favours, Exmouth Town being held to a 1-1 draw by St Austell.

Sixth also played and beat fifth, Falmouth Town defeating Cullompton Rangers 3-1 and Saltash United’s 4-0 home win over Elburton Villa also took them above the Rangers.

Torpoint Athletic were the big scorers, winning 6-1 at Launceston, who remain second-bottom.

Elsewhere, Millbrook continued their progress following last season’s promotion by beating Bodmin Town 3-1.

Callington Town won 2-0 at home to Godlophin Athletic.
