- NATIONAL LEAGUE

STOCKPORT County moved back up to fourth in the National League table after second-half goals from Ritchie Bennett and Alex Reid sealed a comfortable 2-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge.

And King’s Lynn Town moved further away from the relegation zone with a crucial 1-0 win at Eastleigh – Adam Marriott’s 40th-minute penalty separating the two sides after Alex Kiwomya was fouled in the Spitfires’ box.

National League South was the most active division of Tuesday night and the highlight undoutedly saw Oxford City come back from 2-0 and 3-1 down to triumph 5-3 at Hemel Hempstead Town and go fifth in the table.

Goals from Jonathan Lacey and Ryan Sellars put Hemel in charge before Pablo Martinez halved the arrears on the stroke of half-time.

BJ Christie restored the two-goal advantage within seconds of the restart but City clicked through the gears and finished with a flourish – Harvey Bradbury’s brace sandwiching strikes from Reece Fleet and Jacob Bancroft.

There was another cracker in the Essex derby as Chelmsford City came from 3-0 down to snatch a 3-3 draw at rivals Billericay Town.

Two goals from Rowan Liburd and one from top scorer Jake Robinson put Kev Watson’s Ricay in dreamland, only for Jake Cass, Tom Wraight and Adam Morgan to reply.

Early goals from the two Toms, Mehew and Smith, helped Bath City ease their relegation fears with a hardfought 2-1 win over Havant & Waterlooville, who replied through Roarie Deacon.

Similarly, Braintree Town, secured a vital 2-0 win at Maidstone United thanks to an Arianit Krasniqi strike and an own goal from Stones striker Scott Rendell.

Slough Town’s struggles continued as they went down 2-0 at home to Ebbsfleet United with Rakish Bingham scoring both Fleet goals.

In National League North, Bradford Park Avenue recovered from 2-0 down and netted a last-minute equaliser as they prevented second-placed Chester from moving to within four points of leaders Gloucester City in a 3-3 draw.

Danny Elliott and John Johnstone put the Blues in control before Gianluca Havern and Lewis Knight restored parity. James Morgan looked to have won it for Chester on 89 minutes effort but Avenue still had time to level through John Askew’s stoppage-time own goal.
