HELLENIC League Premier Division Flackwell Heath booked a quarter-final trip to US Portsmouth with a dominant performance at a blustery Coach Road.

The Buckinghamshire side were excellent value for the win that was made easier when the home side had substitute Shane Krac sent off for a scything tackle five minutes after he came on.

By then, Marcus Richardson’s side were in the box seat at 2-1 up but three goals in the last six minutes ramped up the excitement although the result was not in doubt.

Richardson was naturally delighted with his side’s showing in a game that was end-to-end in parts. He said: “We have been playing like that week in and week out and despite having players missing we had Parkway on the back foot for most of the second half.”

Parkway settled early with the wind behind them but with Mikey Williams and River Allen snuffed out, created little despite the hard running of Ryan Richards. But it was slightly against the run of play when Louie Soares’s shot was parried by Kyle Moore and Jack Taylor tucked in the rebound just short of the half-hour mark.

Parkway were given a path back when Brandon Eaton flattened Richards and the former Saltash United man tucked home the penalty right on the break.

Parkway began strongly after the break but were soon under the cosh and Heath looked to have clinched the tie when Parker smashed in a 30-yarder on 72 minutes. Parkway boss Lee Hobbs introduced Krac but after he was ordered off and a defensive blunder gifted Heath a third for grateful sub Simeon Weekes, it looked all over.

But straight from the kickoff sub Levi Landricombe got on the end of a long ball to lob Aaron Watkins to make it 3-2 with moments left.

With the home defence pushing up, James Mansfield drilled home the fourth. Richardson added: “I told my team to play their game and they would win and now we look forward to a trip to Portsmouth.”
