The New Saints lost their first game at home in the Championsh­ip Conference and Cefn Druids finally won their first game of the season in the play-off section, 2-1 over

Penybont lost 1-0 at Flint Town United in the Championsh­ip Conference. Mark Cadwallade­r’s goal three minutes after the break earned Flint their first win since 22 January and their first home win since 4 December.

The win moved Flint off the bottom of the six team table and pushed them back into contention for the second European spot.

With six games left, there are now only five points between four teams and six between second place Bala and sixth place Caernarfon Town.

Bala beat Caernarfon 2-0 thanks to goals from Dean Ebbe and Lassana Mendes, while Newtown pulled off the big one with a 1-0 triumph at TNS.

The 31st-minute goal from Nick Ruston pushed Newtown firmly back into the European reckoning.

Pontypridd Town closed the gap at the top of the JD South league with a 1-0 win at Risca United.

League leaders Llantwit Major were held 1-1 at home by Ammanford. And their lead is now only two points, although they have a game in hand.

Sam Johnson was the Ponty hero, netting in the 86th minute to make it back-to-back defeats for the hosts.

Another late goal saved Llantwit’s bacon.

The visitors led through Matt Fisher’s fourth-minute goal. But therir cause wasn’t helped when Shane Parry picked up his second yellow card a minute before the end of normal time. Seven minutes later Kyran Gardner struck to level things up.

Briton Ferry Llansawel stay in third after Jasper Payne’s 88th-minute winner in a thrilling 3-2 home win over Cambrian and Clydach Vale.

In the North, league leaders

Airbus UK Broughton won 2-0 at Prestatyn Town, while second placed Llandudno won 2-1 at

Buckley Town.

Colwyn Bay beat Guilsfield at home to move up to fifth.
