CORBY Town kept their part of the bargain in a six-way fight for two play-off places by demolishin­g a rival – only for their efforts to be in vain as all the others won.

Gary Setchell’s Steelmen knew it was a case of win and hope rivals dropped points but never looked back having moved in front in the 16th minute, Michael Jacklin smashing home from Florian Tsaguim’s cross.

Tsaguim then got in on the act, driving home after good work by Toby Hilliard just before the half-hour mark but any joy among the travelling support was tempered as news filtered through that fourth-placed Sporting Khalsa and Chasetown had moved ahead.

BEDWORTH ended the season on a high with a win at bottom club Yaxley.

Bedworth took the lead when Elliott Parrott headed home a Ryan Moore free-kick after ten minutes.

GLOSSOP North End were able to save themselves from automatic relegation with victory away at Bootle.

Bootle started the brightest and had loud claims for a penalty against Moses Yoak dismissed by the referee.

Bootle were able to make good on their early pressure when Jack McGowan converted in the 11th minute after a Matty Hamilton corner wasn’t fully cleared.
