DEJI DEALS THE CARDS A BLOW
Elerewe turns the tables on Woking
DEJI ELEREWE’S looping header saw Bromley’s comeback kids into the semi-final against Chesterfield.
Time seemed to stand still as the defender’s header crept towards the top corner after Omar Sowunmi’s long throw into the box and bounced through to him at the far post.
In truth, Andy Woodman’s young side deserved it for their performance having gone into half-time scratching their heads how they weren’t at least level.
Rohan Ince had smashed Woking in front after just 13 minutes when the ball came to him on the edge of the box and he unleashed a cannon into the roof of the net.
Woking’s Will Jaaskelainen made an excellent point-blank
save soon after from Louis Dennis, who had arrived onto Besart Topalloj’s wicked cross.
Callum Reynolds’ header from a well-worked set piece beat everyone as it flashed across the face and Michael Cheek couldn’t quite control another fierce delivery but had it not been for a brilliant block from Josh Casey on the stroke of half-time it would have been level.
Eventually Bromley wrestled control, although they needed a fantastic covering block from Sowunmi to deny Padraig Amond.
On the hour, Bromley levelled after Whitely lured Dan Moss into a mis-timed challenge on the edge of the area. Cheek stepped up and slotted home from the spot.
And, on 78 minutes, Elerewe’s header put them on the road to Derbyshire
