The Non-League Football Paper

WEEKLY UPDATE

-

WELCOME to the latest update of the 2022/23 Fantasy Non-League. Today’s update covers the period Sunday, May 7 through to Saturday, May 13 2023.

Well, after today we only have one more update to sort and that will be next Sunday and, of course, will contain our End of Season Winners.

There is only one more game to feature in this season’s FNL 2022/23 journey and that is the FA Trophy final between FC Halifax Town and Gateshead FC which takes place this afternoon at Wembley. Once that game completes, I will be adding the End of Season Bonuses to all your scores and the FNL 2022/23 Champion will be revealed. And, of course, the Barrie New Bottom Spot winner will also be revealed.

So, in today’s update let’s look at who is in the running for the major places in this season’s Fantasy NonLeague Competition.

Leading the way at the top is CHOIRBOYS [S] with 19,822pts, they have opened quite a handy lead over recent weeks, and they find themselves 443pts ahead of second placed BOSTON PILGRIMS (Eaton) [S] and 472pts ahead of third placed ATHLETICO BB [S]. The top ten teams are covered by 774pts.

At the bottom is MALTIP RESERVES [S] with just 167pts, they are 83pts adrift from their nearest rival HARD SCRABBLE [S] the bottom ten is covered by a massive 1,727pts.

Just to remind you there are a total of five End of Season prizes. The top four and of course the bottom club will pick up the BARRIE NEW BOTTOM SPOT in memory of a total FNL man in Barrie New. So, the End of Season Bonuses are going to make a real impact on the final calculations. Last season the impact of the End of Season bonuses was devastating for one team. Our leader going into that final week finished in 5th place after the bonuses were awarded and he totally missed out on any cash at all. Will that happen again?

Finally next weekend I will be doing my final text notification for the players who have no internet access and also the final FNL MiniLeagues will appear next weekend.
