ADAMA’S TO DOWN

- Morgan 45, Hancock 90 By Tom Dodds STAR MAN: Adama Sidibeh (Warrington Rylands) ENTERTAINMENT:

ADAMA Sidibeh scored twice as Warrington Rylands breathed life into the title race with a thrilling victory at pacesetters Radcliffe.

Second-placed Rylands took a third minute lead at the Neuven Stadium.

Sidibeh’s rocket-like strike gave Radcliffe shot-stopper Mateusz Hewelt no chance in front of the travelling support.

Top of the table Radcliffe turned up the pressure. Centre-back Rick Smith and playmaker Josh Hancock saw their headed efforts go narrowly wide of the upright.

Michael Clegg’s side took advantage of the Radcliffe pressure and hit on the counter attack, as Sidibeh was rewarded with his second of the game. The striker timed his run and broke away from Smith to put Rylands two goals to the good on 36 minutes.

As the half-time whistle loomed, Boro’s Jamie Morgan popped up in the six-yard area. The wing-back brought down Hancock’s cross and beat Luke Pilling to cut the visitors’ lead.

The second half continued in much the same pattern as Rylands executed their game-plan to perfection. Manager Clegg said: “We defended nice and deep and left loads of ground to run into, and we damaged them doing that.”

Ben Hardcastle’s superb finish that found the top corner on 76 minutes ultimately proved to be the match-winner. It was a moment of excellence to put the visitors 3-1 up.

A late flurry of chances from Radcliffe came after a triple substitution, with Luca Navarro putting his shot narrowly past the post.

Hancock superbly pulled one back late on. His strike from range created a tense final three minutes but Rylands defended well to take all three points in the top of the table clash.

Whilst disappointed with the result, Radcliffe co-manager Anthony Johnson said: “We take risks and look to be exciting. If we win or lose, we give it the best we can do.”

The result moves Warrington Rylands to within three points of the league leaders, who have a game in hand.
