HELD CRIBBS CAN’T MAKE IT COUNT

- By Neil Harvey

CRIBBS missed the chance to leapfrog inactive Wimborne Town and go top of the Division One South table after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Bishops Cleeve.

And they left it late to even settle for that with Harris Feltham’s 92nd-minute strike earning them a point after Ethan Dunbar and Toby Holland had earlier sandwiched David Duru’s earlier strike for the visitors Bideford are right behind the top two as they won again – this time 2-1 at Devon rivals Tavistock, thanks to a brace from Mattie Buchan.

Also sat in amongst the top five are Frome Town, but they had to settle for a 2-2 home draw with Melksham Town in a feisty encounter which featured two red cards for each team and numerous bookings.

Stuart Green’s winner helped Bemerton Heath Harlequins move up to fifth with a 3-2 win at Bashley, for whom Conor Whiteley scored twice, while play-off chaers Evesham United won 3-2 in the Worecstershifre derby at Malvern Town in front of a bumper 600+ crowd thanks to Charles Wise’s 93rd minute winner. Levi Steele earlier scored twice for the Robins.

Three second half strikes gave Bristol Manor Farm a convincing 3-0 victory over Willand Rovers – Daniel Dodimead scoring twice – while a David O’Hare goal early in the second period was enough to give Paulton Rovers a much-needed victory over Yate Town.

Meanwhile, Mousehole came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Exmouth Town, and Westbury Rovers and Larkhall Athletic ended 1-1 with Athletic’s Dawid Regula cancelling out Harvey Flippance’s early opener.
