MARKETMEN PRICED OUT OF TOP SPOT

- By Joe Hyde

NEEDHAM Market missed out on the chance to reclaim top spot in Premier Central as Adam Mills’ early strike ensured AFC Sudbury claimed a surprise, but much-needed, 1-0 win.

After AFC Telford United were held to a goalless draw with Bromsgrove Sporting, Stamford are now level on points, behind only on goal difference, as they defeated St Ives Town 4-2.

Chesham United find themselves four points clear of Salisbury at the top of the Premier South division as goals from Callum Adebiyi, Alex Lafleur and a Ogo Obi brace helped them to a 4-0 win over strugglers Harrow Borough.

Dwayne Duncan’s double for Hanwell Town means

Beaconsfield Town remain in the relegation zone, one place below Hayes & Yeading United who lost a 4-3 thriller at Hendon.

At Step 4, Bedford Town still top the Division One Central table despite going down 3-2 at home to

Biggleswade Town. Kyle Connolly and Leon Lobjoit netted for the Eagles but they were no match for Biggleswade scorers Luke Andrews, Cole Dasilva and Liam Brooks.

Kings Langley are just two points off the playoff places following their 2-1 win over Ware. Rayan Clarke netted two and Louie Collier and Sonny French also bagged for Langley.

North Leigh now only trail leaders Bedford on goal difference after a 3-0 win over Kidlington. Owen James scored twice for the Millers before Gregory Hackett added another late on.

In Division One South,

Cribbs moved level with inactive leaders Wimborne Town after Reece Hedges and Jacob Brown netted in a 2-1 win at home to

Town.
