COREY BLIMEY! HAIL NOMADS

ANSTEY NOMADS 2 SHEPSHED DYNAMO 1

- By Ryan Bromyard

ANSTEY Nomads staged a dramatic late fightback to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against ten-man Shepshed.

Former Anstey player Zayn Hakeem opened the scoring for Shepshed after just five minutes, cutting inside from the right and finishing with his left.

Hakeem then hit the crossbar early in the second half.

Reece Morris was sent off for Dynamo after a second bookable offence reducing them to ten men with around 20 minutes to play.

Nyle Blake sent an effort wide for Nomads, before JorLOUGHBOROUGH dan Annable went close with a bicycle kick.

Eventually, Ant Lynn grabbed an equaliser in the 90th minute and then five minutes later, Corey Armeni’s corner missed everyone and found it’s way into the top corner. This completed an incredible late comeback for Anstey Nomads.

A MAGICAL 97thminute winner from Ethan Johnston won this hard-fought contest for AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Sutton Coldfield will rue not making first-half dominance count as they pegged Diamonds back, but struggled to create really clear chances against resolute defending.

Diamonds improved in a competitive second half, but the two sides largely cancelled each other out.

Coldfield had a golden chance to grab the opener when awarded a harsh penalty after 61 minutes, but Diamonds stopper Ben Heath saved well. He then crucially saved a one-onone with five minutes left.

Daniel Tagoe then lit the touchpaper with a superb ball for Ethan Johnston who ran in and slotted home. STAR MAN: Daniel Tagoe (Diamonds)
