REBELS DO THEIR BIT FOR CHARITY

- By Neil Harvey

SLOUGH Town have nominated their visit of Bath City on Saturday as their charity fundraiser to coincide with their partnership with Thames Hospice.

Various fundraising activities will be taking place at Arbour Park throughout the day to help raise awareness for this fantastic local charity.

Thames Hospice has proudly been serving the community of East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire since 1987, providing specialist palliative and endof-life care services to people aged 16 and over in their own homes, and within the Hospice, as well as vital support for their families.

Their services are free of charge to all those in the local community, but this is only made possible through the charitable support and generosity of the community it serves.

To celebrate the occasion, Slough Town will be wearing a one-off kit featuring the colours and logo of Thames Hospice.

The kit will then be raffled off at the end of the game.

Half-time and post-match activities will also be available for the whole family, while members of the Hospices’ retail team will be on hand collecting donations of good quality clothing and accessories to help stock their 22 shops in the Thames Valley area.

Community manager Ade Gomm said: “It gives us great pleasure to work with this fantastic local charity, which does such fantastic work in our community.

“We are using this event to raise awareness, letting the residents of Slough know that vital help and support is available for families facing a life-limited diagnosis.

“There will also be a small group of players and management from the club who will be visiting the Hospice the week before the game to meet the staff and see firsthand the good work they do.”
