The Non-League Football Paper

We’re back – and bigger than ever!

-

WE’VE devoured our Christmas pudding, sipped the New Year champagne and (hopefully) seen off the wintery weather – which can only mean one thing.

Time flies when you’re having fun, as they say, and before you can say ‘Isuzu FA Trophy and Vase’ The National Game Awards are back to signal the business end of another spell-binding Non-League season.

With plenty still to play for, of course, this year’s NGAs are very much up for grabs so why not get your votes in early to give your team, star man, top fan or most valued volunteer the best chance of being honoured in Non-League football’s most prized ceremony.

Today, we can exclusively reveal that The NGAs will once again by held at AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane Stadium on Wednesday May 22.

Once again, we are delighted to confirm that Isuzu UK have agreed to become title sponsors again this year, adding The NGAs to their current sponsorship of Non-League’s two premier cup competitions.

Isuzu UK have become a driving force behind grassroots football in the community with a large number of dealerships from all over the country becoming actively involved in their local clubs.

We remain proud and hugely grateful for their support and look forward to working closely with the Isuzu UK team when it comes to selecting the winner of our muchloved Unsung Hero Award.

The NGAs have become a Non-League institution over the years – and that’s thanks largely to the strong backing it receives. Without this, we simply couldn’t honour the great and good of the Non-League game with that now famous glass decanter, provided once again this year by our friends at Supreme Engraving.

This year, we welcome two new backers to the party. Our friends at 1000GBP are pulling up trees with their ultimate daily football quiz (see advertising wrap) and they are getting involved by honouring our Player of the Year.

Also on board are UK teamwear and clothing company Moving Forward Sports, who will be putting their name to the Community Club of the Year award.

Huck Nets have once again put their name to the Goal of the Season accolade, while Reusch are also back — they couldn’t wait to once again get their hands on the sponsorship for this season’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Sports Ground Development are back for a second year running to present the Manager of the Year award, while the Acerbis Team of the Year will be as hotly contested as ever.

Our friends at Sportsbeat sign up once again – they didn’t need asking twice to support the Young Player of the Year, while SK Kits will honour Non-League’s top goal getter with the Golden Boot award.

The NLP Lifetime Achievement award is one of our personal favourites, while The Football Supporters’ Association Away Day Experience of the year recognises the efforts clubs make to cater for travelling fans.

The FA are also back on board to acknowledge the winner of the Cup Run of the Year, judged on the FA Cup, Trophy and Vase. Can anyone knock Maidstone United off their perch?

It’s not too late to get involved either. We have sponsorship opportunities available for our Step 3&4 Player of the Year and Fan of the Year awards, so get in touch if you’d like to join the biggest Non-League celebration in town.

Keep an eye on The NLP over the coming weeks for award-by-award guides and all the information you need to ensure the decanters end up in the right hands!

Let’s get this show on the road.
