KIDDY END SPIREITES’ HOME RUN

RELEGATION threatened Kiddermins­ter Harriers inflicted a first home league defeat of the season on champions Chesterfie­ld to earn a huge three points in their battle to beat the drop.

Ashley Hemmings put Phil Brown’s men visitors in front inside six minutes, only for a Matt Preston own goal to pull the Spireites level.

But second half goals from Zak Brown and Preston sealed a shock 3-1 win for the Harriers to take them to within a point of safety.

Boreham Wood crashed to a sixth straight defeat after they went down 4-2 at Southend United.

Goals from Gus Scott-Morriss, James Morton and Jack Bridge put the Shrimpers 3-0 up inside 24 minutes. Cameron Coxe and Matt Robinson netted after the break for Wood but Bridge’s penalty quashed any hopes of a comeback.

Wealdstone lie just ahead of Kiddermins­ter after Jamey Osborne’s 95th-minute strike saw them slip to play-off chasing Solihull Moors, while fellow strugglers Dorking Wanderers salvaged a hard-earned 1-1 draw at Aldershot Town.

Rob Harker’s 93rd-minute equaliser earned play-off chasing FC Halifax Town a point against York City, while Maidenhead United battled back from two goals down to beat Eastleigh 3-2 and move five points clear of the drop zone.

Billy Clifford earned Ebbsfleet United a precious point against Dagenham & Redbridge, while Chris Conn-Clarke’s strike helped Altrincham to a 1-0 win over fellow play-off hopefuls Oldham/

Barnet went four points clear of Bromley in the race for second after they beat relegated Oxford City 3-1 at The Hive,

Gatlin O’Donker opened the scoring for the Bees before Nicke Kabamba’s brace secured all three points for Dean Brennan’s men, despite a late consolatio­n from City’s Harvey Greenslade.

Bromley needed an stoppage-time equaliser from Arsenal loanee Kido Taylor-Hart to snatch a 1-1 draw with Woking.

Devante Rodney was the hero for 10-man Rochdale, as his 96th minute equaliser earned his side a point at home to Hartlepool, cancelling out Joe Grey’s earlier effort for Pools, Kairo Mitchell was sent off in the first half for Dale.
