Toasting success for new café

-

GUESTS from Lochaber were invited to celebrate the official opening of the West Highland College’s new Café TOAST.

Around 60 people attended the launch, after the college completed the refurbishment of the café area, an upgrade of the training kitchens and Changing Places facility, for those with a disability.

TOAST provided visitors with a complimentary afternoon tea, showcasing the wide variety of homemade healthy meals, soups, salads, sandwiches and sweet treats that are available from the café.

Each guest also received a goodie bag containing a sweet treat and loyalty card for future visits.

Fiona Haberl, café manager, said: ‘ We really are delighted to have such an enthusiastic turnout for our opening event.

‘Our aim is to provide high quality, healthy food at a reasonable price, to our staff and students.

‘However we very much want to welcome the public to sample our great food too and the café is open for everyone to enjoy all year round.’

TOAST also has plans to have event catering as well as made-to- order packed lunches and frozen ready meals.

Mairi Mooney, the new business manager for the café, said: ‘It’s great to see so many local clubs and community groups creating such a lively atmosphere in the college today and we hope to see everyone again soon.

‘ We will also be catering for various special events over the summer months, so I would urge everyone to come along, sample some of our lovely food and keep an eye on what is going on in Café TOAST.’
