Concern raised over A boards

OBAN, Lorn and the Isles area committee has raised concerns over the high number of ‘A’ board advertisements cluttering the streets in Oban and other areas.

Ross McLaughlin, Argyll and Bute Council development manager told the committee that a new strategy for dealing with signage will be developed involving both a policy for regulatory/enforcement regime and developing a suitable alternative signage solution option.

The new strategy will be put forward in the autumn and until then, Councillor Roddy McCuish (Oban South and the Isles) said the council would have to work with local business on a compromise to control the issue.
