Inner Wheel rolls up with £200 cheque

-

NORTH Argyll Young Carers Service, which supports carers aged eight to 18 who look after those suffering physical or mental illness, were given a £200 cheque by the Inner Wheel Club of Oban last Thursday, during Carers Week.

The sum was raised at last September’s Oban Sportive bicycle ride, where the ladies handed out high energy bars at watering and feeding stations along the 50- to 80-mile routes in Kilchrenan and Kilmartin.

Morag MacLean, manager of North Argyll Carers Centre, thanked the club for their ‘fantastic ongoing support’ which ‘makes a huge difference’, particularly in funding residential and day trips giving young carers a break.
