Students celebrate graduation day
EIGHTY-TWO students were celebrating after graduating from Lochaber High School. Pupils are pictured here with the Head of Year and Depute Head Teacher Elizabeth Gow and Head Teacher Jim Sutherland.
This year’s ceremony was held at the school on Thursday (June 10). Mr Sutherland said: ‘As we say goodbye to another group of sixth years, we’ve been looking back at their school careers from when they started during our 50th anniversary year in 2010. That six years has seen much change in education and to our school buildings. This year group has survived – and excelled – through the introduction of new national courses in S4 and new Higher courses in S5 while negotiating their way round a building site!
‘Graduation day is always a very special day for the school, but moving on is part of growing up.
‘In saying farewell, I would also like to wish our sixth years all the very best for the future and thank them for the part they have played in making Lochaber High School the good school it is today.’
