Strathdearn Cup - second round
Beauly 3 Glenurquhart 4
The Glenurquhart reserves continued their good cup form when they beat the Beauly reserves 4-3 in their 1pm throw up at Braeview Park.
The Glen went ahead on three minutes when a Finlay Robertson corner bounced and ended up in the back of the net. A Calum Miller goal on eight minutes had the Glen 2- 0 ahead.
Beauly’s Marc MacLachlan pulled a goal back on 23 minutes but Glen’s James MacPherson fired the ball home on 39 minutes to make it 3-1.
Beauly fought back again and Marc MacLachlan got his second to make it 3-2 a minute before the break.
When Marc MacLachlan completed his hat-trick a minute into the second half, the sides were tied at three goals apiece.
Daniel MacKintosh put Glenurquhart back in front when he made it 4-3 on 48 minutes and, after the early goals blast, the only surprise was that there was no further scoring.
The Glenurquhart reserves will now play either the Fort William or Newtonmore reserves in the Strathdearn Cup quarter-finals which are scheduled for Saturday July 16.
