Touring exhibition comes to St Conan’s

-

A TOURING exhibition entitled Scotstyle, celebrating Scotland’s 100 best buildings, will be on view in St Conan’s Kirk, Lochawe, from Saturday (June 18) until July 3. St Conan’s is the only venue in Argyll and Bute.

During the two weeks, visitors can enjoy a number of special events.

On June 22, children from Taynuilt Primary will be in the kirk making a large textile collage for this year’s St Conan’s Cup for Art. The entries for the cup will be on display. Local art groups for adults and individuals will also be at work drawing and painting.

Those wishing to learn more about the history and architecture of St Conan’s Kirk can join guide-led tours which take place at 2.30pm each day. And a new information area is being set up in the kirk telling the story of how St Conan’s came to be built and featuring many photographs.

On Saturday June 25 at 7.30pm, Ian Bradley will talk about ‘St Conan’s and Argyll’s mystical landscape’, while on Monday June 27 at 11.30am, there will be a ‘medical plants walk’ with Anna Hill.

The public can vote on the Festival of Architecture at www. foa.com/scotstyle or in person at St Conan’s Kirk this month.
